Markets in Financial Instruments Directive II (MiFID II) is complemented by Markets in Financial Instruments Regulation (MiFIR), which builds out transaction reporting requirements with a number of new reporting obligations. The data and data management challenges of reporting include an increase in instruments that must be reported and the addition of several new fields to transaction reports. The Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) is also mandated for use in reporting.

Chad leads the Compliance, Operations FM function at Standard Chartered bank that includes global trade and transaction reporting obligations. Recently his duties have broadened to include central bank prudential reporting and the EU Securities Financing Transactions Regulation and other EMIR obligations including portfolio compression and reconciliation, timely confirmations, mandatory clearing and margin reform. He has been involved with regulatory reporting since 2006 from the introduction of MiFID through to Dodd-Frank, EMIR and many other G20 risk reporting requirements.

John Mason is the Global Head of Regulatory and Market Structure Propositions at Thomson Reuters.
In this role, John and his team are responsible for ensuring that Thomson Reuters is effectively addressing the industry’s regulatory challenges – of which MiFID is a particular focus area – and developing solutions across the entire product range to meet the evolving requirements of the financial market participants.
Prior to joining Thomson Reuters, Mason ran the European Enterprise Solutions for Bloomberg and was also their Global Head of Regulatory Reporting. Before joining Bloomberg Mason was the Chief Operating Officer for Core One Technologies prior to its sale to Markit.

Geraldine Gibson is the founder and CEO of the leading RegTech provider, AQMetrics. Geraldine has a distinguished 20-year career in the financial services software market. Prior to AQMetrics, her most recent role was as Head of Professional Services at BAE Systems. Previous to BAE, Geraldine served on the Management Team of the risk and compliance software company Norkom, which BAE acquired in 2011. Before Norkom, Geraldine was a software developer at the US high frequency trading firm, Susquehanna and a software developer at Oracle. Geraldine’s experience was key to her vision for AQMetrics and as a result AQMetrics is a recognised leader in the RegTech revolution.
